Lifelong Impact Inspires William Georges ’88 to Name FCS in His Will

Friendships made at Friends’ Central School seem to stand the test of time. For William Georges ’88, those friendships are just one of the lifelong impacts that inspired him to create a bequest in his will to support Friends’ Central long into the future.

“I’m very close to ten or more classmates from the Class of 1988,” says Bill, who received his JD from Villanova University in 1995 and his MBA from the Wharton School in 2001 after earning his bachelor’s degree at Brown University. “That might be normal for FCS, but it’s not normal for lots of schools. At FCS my friends were unique, and I was friends with lots of different kinds of people.”

Now, Bill wants to ensure future students have the same opportunity he had for a life-changing educational experience at FCS. As he says, tuition doesn’t cover all the school’s expenses, so philanthropic support is key.

While at FCS, Bill participated in track, soccer, and Model United Nations. One of his favorite memories was competing in the Penn Relays as part of the track squad. “We were fast for a little school in the suburbs,” he recalls.

Establishing his bequest was easy, and Bill urges fellow alumni to follow suit.

“If, in your mind, you keep coming back to Friends’ Central School and the impact it had on you, you should recognize it,” he says. “You can give back with time, volunteering, a donation, or donating in your will.”
