David M. Felsen served as head of school for Friends’ Central School for 23 years, from 1988 to 2011. He says he fell in love with FCS, the culture, and the quality of the people. A graduate of Haverford College and the University of Pennsylvania, David is a longtime supporter of FCS and its students and believes in the value of scholarships and of building the endowment.

“In my role as head of school, I managed the FCS finances and fundraising ,” David says. “I learned quickly that FCS relies on generous support to do more for faculty, students, and facilities.” As part of his smart estate planning, David has included a bequest to Friends’ Central in his will.

“I have so many fond memories of my years at FCS, including faculty members and administrators and the many who served on the board of trustees,” David says. “They are such warm people who shared personal support and friendship in addition to great leadership.”

David hopes that sharing his story of giving will inspire others to consider the types of legacies they could leave to support the future of Friends’ Central. “I was a beneficiary of scholarships myself as a student,” David says, “so this was personal for me. I see it as part of my responsibility, and I’m pleased to remember FCS in my will.”
